Welcome to a wealth of information motorcars, including motorcar types, members pages and the "Birth Papers" of Fairmont Railway motor cars that will be added to as information is recieved.
Please note that Fairmont "Birth Papers" are broken in two parts. The first are "Made in the USA" and the other is "Made in Canada". If you are looking for birth papers on either of these, please contact the correct source. And please insure you have any information you can get about your car. Railroad number might help, but try for information on the builders plate that has the model and sub-model information on it. Engine number might also help, but remember that most railroads had spare engines and these were routinely swapped out during maintenance.

Fairmont Birth Papers
Made in USA
Thru the gernerous donations recieved by the NARCOA Board of Directors, affliates and members at the 2011 Annual NARCOA meeting, contributions we recieved for the collection of Fairmont Motor Car "Birth Papers" to be preserved at the Martin County Historical Society. This collection will reside in its own room that is currently under construction. They have not yet been physically transferred, however, at this point please have anyone seeking information to contact the below below address. As of 1/18/2012, they do now have access to the information, but will get it for them as soon as possible.
The charges will be as follows:
1-$10.00 for birth records (Mailing and copy included)
2-Additional research, if necessary, will be based upon our normal research charges here at the museum: $15,00 for the first hour and $10.00 for each hour thereafter plus $0.25 per copy made. If it's an easy/quick find, we would charge less than $15.00 for research time for the first hour.
I hope this helps. Sorry about the time lag in getting the records physically transferred to the museum, however, the people at Harsco are under the gun and quite busy at this point and are doing all they can to get this accomplished as soon as possible as well.
Let me know if there is anything else I can help with regarding the records.
